Announcing Highly Sensitive Money!

Hello from Krog market in Atlanta, the unceded and stolen territories of the Mvskoke.

I came to Atlanta to attend the beautiful and deeply impacting Trailblazing Conference put together by Be Present and Wisdom & Money, where I am the incoming board treasurer. This conference was the culmination of an 18 month institute where participants practiced being in their body while taking part in community organizing towards social justice.

Imagine staying with your moment by moment mind, body, and spirit responses as you get bombarded with messages of the ongoing and recently escalating conflict on the Gaza strip.

Imagine staying with your moment by moment mind, body, and spirit responses as you see your peers grow their skills and shine brightly in areas of their life they’ve been avoiding for a long time.

Imagine staying with your moment by moment mind, body, and spirit responses as you learn to love others across geographic, gender, cultural, age, and political differences.

The work of these two organizations fuels me to continue working on social justice. To paraphrase Rev. angel Kyodo williams, individuals can’t solve collective issues, so let’s create communities that can.

Both organizations are currently fundraising to cover the last $56,000 worth of the half a million dollar investment in this 18 month program. We’re almost there!!! Any donations given referencing “Trailblazing conference 2023” will be matched 100% from now through Nov 15. Please contribute and help us reach our goal!

From deep nuance to big media…

I have been deeply fed by these two beautiful organizations and I feel ready to attend my first FinCon conference in New Orleans this week. FinCon is very different from places I usually attend because it tends to skew towards a “get rich quick” mentality, yet I want to bring my work to more people.

This means, I get to expand my window of tolerance by becoming more and more public – gulp….

My moment to moment response to this includes tightness in my belly, jaw clenching, shoulders relaxing, surprise at said relaxed shoulders, and chest slightly inching upward while I narrow my eyes and prepare to dive into a new challenge. I’m reminded of how I felt the moment before I dived into a waterfall in Huatulco, Oaxaca – with a sense of “it’s now or never” and “wow, the view from here is stunning”.

As much as I’d like to have word of mouth and my passion for my calling be all I needed to grow my business, that does not seem to be my path (yet).

I want to launch a podcast on how Highly Sensitive People (HSP) do money and FinCon is the perfect place to learn all about podcasting. Would you like to be part of this new project?

  • If you or someone you know self-identifies as an HSP and would be willing to have a coaching session shared publicly please reach out!
  • I’ll also be interviewing money experts that are working towards social justice and HSP experts – if you fall into either of these categories I’d love to know!

Con cariño and happy trepidation,
